About 30 years in state office/ Meta amnesties himself from the responsibilities

The head of the Freedom Party, Ilir Meta, has returned 31 years later, remembering the exodus of Albanians to Italy on the ship "Vlora" in 1991.

Through a post on social networks, Meta writes that even after 31 years, 40 percent of illegal immigrants who cross the English Channel, risking their lives, are Albanians.

“Që drama e madhe e shpopullimit të marrë fund dhe shqiptarët të ankorojnë shpresën në Atdheun e tyre, duhet ndëshkuar kapja e shtetit, modeli korruptiv dhe kriminal që lë në varfëri shumicën e qytetarëve, për të pasuruar një pakicë”, shkruan Meta duke amnistuar veten nga përgjegjësia për shpopullimin e vendit dhe duke harruar që përgjatë këtyre viteve ai ka mbajtur poste shtetërore.

Pas 31 viteve nga këto pamje tronditëse dhe emocionuese të 8 gushtit 1991, kur rreth 20 mijë shqiptarë në bordin e anijes “Vlora” nisën udhëtimin drejt lirisë, për një jetë të re dhe një të ardhme më të mirë, eksodi i shqiptarëve vijon dhimbshëm.

Edhe sot, 40 përqind e emigrantëve të paligjshëm që kalojnë La Manshin, duke rrezikuar jetën e tyre, janë shqiptarë.
