Hail and snowfall in Shkodra / Several families are blocked on various road

Bad weather and snowfall have engulfed the country today. According to the prefect of the Shkodra region, several families, including children, are stranded on various road axes, from the Buni i Bajraktar area to the descent towards the city of Koplik.

It is reported that hail and snow are falling on this road axis and frost has begun to form, significantly hindering road traffic. According to information, over 200 vehicles are attempting to move in the direction of Koplik.

The Prefect of Shkodra District informs that during the last few hours, a considerable number of calls have been received from citizens in the operations room of the Shkodra Police Commissariat, where it is reported that several families, including children, are blocked on various road segments.

Blockages have been identified on various road axes, from the Buni i Bajraktar area to the descent towards the city of Koplik.

Currently, this road axis is experiencing heavy rain alternating with snow and frost has begun to form, significantly making road traffic difficult.

According to reports, over 200 vehicles are attempting to move towards Koplik. Movement has been restored thanks to the intervention on the ground, where the Traffic Police services and snow removal vehicles are located, which are in constant coordination to manage the situation and guarantee road traffic safety.

The District Prefect is continuously monitoring the situation and has requested immediate coordination between the structures responsible for normalizing traffic and guaranteeing the safety of citizens.

In this context, all drivers are urged to respect road traffic rules, avoid unnecessary movements on problematic roads and follow the instructions of the Police. In case of need or problems, citizens are invited to immediately communicate with the State Police or emergency services. /CNA
