Shortly before the start of the protest called by the party of incinerators at the Sharra landfill, the US embassy in Tirana issued a message to the citizens.

The embassy urges American citizens to avoid large gatherings and follow the instructions of law enforcement authorities.

"A protest is scheduled to take place today near the Sharra landfill, about 6 kilometers west of the American Embassy. US citizens are advised to avoid large gatherings. Although many major events pass peacefully, some situations can change quickly and unpredictably.
