The Constitutional Court has issued a press release, assuring the parties that its decision-making is not influenced by any other power. The court further states that any attempt to question the authority of the Constitutional Court is unacceptable.

This reaction of the court comes after yesterday's statement by Prime Minister Rama, who called the 2022 decision of the Constitutional Court to increase judges' salaries a bitter joke that he hoped would not be repeated.

Taking cue from positions and reactions recently published in the media and on social networks by representatives of other branches of government, including the executive branch, as well as the media itself, the Constitutional Court assures the public and the parties to the proceedings that it is independent in the exercise of its constitutional function and is not influenced by them in its activity or decision-making.

The Constitutional Court takes the opportunity to reiterate that its decisions may be subject to criticism, however, any form of influence is unacceptable, as is any attempt to question its authority and reputation, even in appearance, which would violate the very fundamental principles of the rule of law and that of the separation and balance between powers.
