The Independent Qualification Commission has dismissed from office the judge of the Court of Tirana, Blerina Muço.

The decision to dismiss Muço was taken this Wednesday with a majority of votes.

The reason for her dismissal was the large amount of money in her bank account.

The former judge was not present at the time when the decision to dismiss her was given.

In the hearing that took place a few days ago, the KPK announced that it had passed the burden of proof to Muço on a financial impossibility in the amount of ALL 10.9 million for the creation of cash in the current account and that in the apartment, as well as for covering expenses. The negative balance, from what was reported in the session, derives from the lack of proof of the legality of a part of the subject's husband's income from legal consultancies and employment in some companies.

Muço contested the finding of the KPK and said that it contradicted the jurisprudence of the College.

The vetting process for grandmother Muço was carried out by the KPK body headed by Pamela Qirko, relator Roland Ilian and member Brunilda Bekteshin./ CNA
