Good Friday/ Thousands of Orthodox believers participate in the Epitaph procession in Korça

On the afternoon of Good Friday, Korça was enveloped in a spiritual atmosphere, as thousands of Orthodox believers, along with visitors from different cities, gathered to participate in the traditional rite of passage under the epitaph, one of the most significant moments of Holy Week.

In the main square of the city, in front of the Cathedral of the Resurrection of Christ, the epitaphs of the six churches of Korça were placed together, creating an impressive sight and a strong sense of unity among those present. Under the sounds of church hymns and common prayers, the ceremony took place in a solemn atmosphere, conveying the message of commemoration of the sacrifice and suffering of Christ.

Then, the procession of the epitaph, symbol of the tomb of Christ, started from the Cathedral of the Resurrection of Christ and traversed the main boulevards of the city, with stops at designated points for prayer. At the head of this procession this year was His Grace, Archbishop Anastasi./ CNA
