1 year in prison for the head of the Devoll Municipality / SPAK sets the measure for Eduard Duro

SPAK has requested a 1-year sentence and a 5-year ban on the right to exercise functions for the mayor of Devoll, Eduard Duro.

The Special Prosecution Office announced today the indictment against the mayor of Devoll, Eduard Duro, requesting his sentence for abuse of office, which will be converted into 3 years of probation, as well as the additional sentence of not exercising public functions for 5 years.

Prosecutor Dritan Prençi requested the same sentence for the other 4 officials: Astrit Seferkolli, Gazment Haxhia, Gazment Mali and Vosjava Bregu.

Eduard Duro was officially indicted by SPAK a few months ago, and is accused of licensing a business, a gas station in Bilisht, which was an illegal construction. SPAK's investigation came after a report filed with the Special Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office by another subject. In addition to Duro, 4 employees of the Devoll Municipality were also investigated, including tax specialists and the general secretary of the Municipality. / CNA
