The date / When the universal charger will come into use is revealed

The European Union has given phone manufacturers until December 28, 2024 to pass the law on the use of a universal charger.

The BBC reports that the EU previously agreed that new Apple electronic devices will have to use a common charger (USB Type-C) by autumn 2024.

Now the law has entered the Official Journal of the EU and with it an exact date has been set.

Companies like Apple, whose iPhones use chargers manufactured by the company, will not sell new devices in the EU after the deadline unless they use the common charger.

Greg Joswiak, Apple's vice director of worldwide marketing, told the Wall Street Journal that the largest mobile phone company would comply "fully" with the law. /CNA.al Source: BBC
