The renewal of Kylian Mbappé's contract with PSG in May meant a significant increase in the French striker's salary. According to Forbes, the Frenchman's earnings this season have reached $131 million between salary and sponsors, a record figure that puts him at the top of the world's highest-paid players.

Since 2014, Cristiano Ronaldo and Messi had shared the top position in the table, but Mbappe's latest contract signing with PSG has dethroned two of the best footballers in history. According to Forbes, the seven-time Ballon d'Or winner receives $110 million per season, while Cristiano's earnings are $100 million.

Among the first four of this classification, three players belong to PSG. Of the 131 million that Kylian Mbappe will receive in the 2022-2023 season, 110 million benefits him as a salary, while 21 million from sponsorship contracts (Nike, Dior, Panini...).
