Self-employed retirees will not pay social security

Public counseling produces one of the first legal changes. Self-employed pensioners in the private sector will no longer pay social security.

66% of respondents have proposed that able-bodied pensioners should no longer have to pay obligations to the state.

For this reason, the Ministry of Economy and Finance has proposed an amendment to the law on social security, which has been submitted for public consultation.

Beneficiaries are about 150 self-employed retirees in the private sector who pay 14 million contributions every month.

According to the calculations of the ministry, the exclusion from this scheme of this category of employees would deduct from the social insurance fund about 170 million ALL every year.

But the effect is unaffordable for the state budget. The old age pension benefits all persons who have 15 years of social insurance./euronews
