139 women and girls, most of them with protection orders from the Court, have been killed in Albania during the last 10 years because of family relationships.

According to State Police statistics, from 2010 to 2019, the number of murders averaged 11-12 murders per year, excluding 2011, with 15 murders, and 2013, which recorded a record number of 17 women. were killed by their partners.
