The Minister of Health and Social Protection, Albana Koçiu, appealed today that the groups at risk as a result of the winter season's viruses, get the flu vaccine for free.

"The flu vaccine continues to be administered free of charge in health centers for at-risk groups, to ensure the protection of citizens' health," Koçiu said in a post on social networks.

The Minister declares that in addition to the 4 health centers in Tirana for pediatric emergencies, there are also 31 centers available throughout the country.

"The Ministry of Health and Social Protection has enabled, in addition to 4 24/7 health centers in Tirana for pediatric emergencies, 31 health centers throughout the country to be in service 24 hours a day, even during the weekend, to help the citizens of who can go to the family doctor near their place of residence, without having to go to the hospital", she emphasizes.

Also, Koçiu calls on the citizens not to neglect the signs of flu and to follow the doctor's advice in this period of viruses to avoid health complications.

The Minister also published the appeal of the pediatrician at the Health Center No. 9 in the capital, Adriana Cenko.

"The autumn-winter period is loaded with various viruses. One of the main viruses that dominates this period is the flu. The flu leaves its own complications in the pulmonary system, in children, in the sinuses in children over 7 years old. To prevent these complications , as a pediatrician, I advise vaccinating children from 6 months to 18 years old. The flu also affects the third age, so my advice is vaccination," said the pediatrician.

The pediatrician appeals that "for this period, which is a period of viruses, I advise mothers that if their children have the signs of a virus, the best way to take care of your children is to give them soups with greens, juices, fresh fruits and breathing out into the fresh air"./ CNA
