When professional stress becomes a danger to the psyche

Researchers show that poor working conditions have a major impact on mental health, reports "Welt.de". 

They have analyzed that one of the stress factors that increase the risk of depression is the time spent at work, while they explain that time pressure is not the main problem.

But this is no longer seen as a problem in Germany, because the Institute for Safety and Health at Work has forced bosses to instruct employees on safety and health protection.

A study by the Federal Institute for Safety and Health at Work (BAuA) estimates that 1/3 of the cases in which employees suffer from symptoms of depression may be caused by their work.

In a WIdO survey, most participants also reported "work-related psychological complaints", particularly exhaustion and anger, but also insomnia.

Another study by Greiner and Rugulies, which included work stress and mental illness with a total of hundreds of thousands of workers, with a time period of 2017-2021, found that all of them came from high-income countries and had no symptoms of the disease at the start of the study, but over time some had developed a clinically diagnosed mental disorder.
