AstraZeneca's drug, good news in aggressive lung cancer treatment

AstraZeneca's drug Imfinzi shows promise in treating aggressive lung cancer. The drug demonstrated "statistically and clinically significant improvement" in the primary endpoints of overall survival and progression-free survival in patients whose disease had not worsened after concurrent chemoradiotherapy in a late-stage trial, according to AstraZeneca.

The pharmaceutical company, AstraZeneca, has announced that its successful cancer drug Imfinzi helped improve overall and progression-free survival in patients with limited stage small cell lung cancer.

Small cell lung cancer is a very aggressive form of cancer that usually recurs and progresses rapidly despite initial response to chemotherapy and radiotherapy./ CNA
