Rama opens the race for Tirana/ "Let's start working on the elections"

Prime Minister Edi Rama, in a meeting with the new ministers and Tirana MPs, has formalized the candidacy of Ogerta Manastirliu for the local by-elections for the leadership of Tirana.

Rama, responding to critics, said that dealing with Veliaj's public trial is a waste of time, and dealing with justice is a loss of direction.

Rama ordered the structures to begin preparations for the local elections in Tirana, announcing tomorrow's decision to dismiss Erion Veliaj.

 

"Their trial in the media booths is another imbalance in the scales of justice. Dealing with caricatures is a waste of time, dealing with justice is a loss of compass."

 We must not hold the capital hostage. Our theme is to address the increasingly damaging vacuum in Tirana's leadership. Tirana cannot be a headless body, and we cannot live in a city without a head.

The structures should begin work on organizing elections in Tirana with the right candidate, Ogerta Manastirliu.

"I believe, as you have noted, Ogerta Manastirliu's candidacy has found the support of the political family," said Rama./ CNA
