The second Albanian school after Korça was opened in Pogradec, a week later on March 14, 1887 by Kristo Sotiri.
In addition to this school, a girls' school run by a woman, Persefoni Treni, also operated in the city of Pogradec.
From 1887 until 1920, Pogradeci has left a mark on the path of education and to make these efforts of the time concrete, the history researcher Niko Kotherja brought to this city an exhibition with documents, photographs and books that materialize these efforts for education in the city lake.
For Entela Gusho, as an archivist by profession, such documents and photographs are a very interesting moment to study but also to familiarize with this part of history, mainly the younger generations, who must clearly understand the heroic efforts of I did it to learn Albanian.
The documentary exhibition, in addition to manuscripts and photographs, also included the books used to learn Albanian, starting with Sami Frashër's primer and other books. This exhibition was opened in the context of the 137th anniversary of the Albanian school in Pogradec. /CNA
