The local community of Arvi has been shocked by the tragedy that happened at noon on Saturday in Crete.

A minor, 6 years old, of Albanian origin, has changed after drowning on the beach in the area.

According to the Greek media, the 6-year-old escaped from his mother's attention and entered the sea to swim, where he drowned.

A resident of the area saw the unconscious child on the water and immediately raised the alarm.

Residents of the village and bystanders went to the scene, and with the help of a defibrillator and the doctor, they tried to revive the child.

The ambulance immediately arrived at the scene and the child was transported to the Vianno Health Center, but unfortunately he did not survive./ CNA
