Investigative journalist Artan Hoxha has spoken about Albanian criminal organizations.

Invited to the show "The Unexposed", Artan Hoxha said that Albania has extraordinary dimensions in this field and there are criminal organizations that have been tried and convicted in the USA.

The journalist continued with the list, showing that in Colombia, Brazil, Ecuador, today there are Albanian "martyrs" of drug-trafficking battles.

Artan Hoxha spoke about criminal organizations in Europe, in Great Britain, Belgium, Holland, Germany, Spain, France, Italy, Switzerland, Greece, recalling the cases where one of the biggest bosses of the Greek mafia was killed, where the conflict was who would check the hotels in Mykonos with Albanians from Vlora.

"When we talk about Albanian organized crime, mainly drug trafficking, which has made us important in the international market, when we mention this and refer to the largest Albanian organizations, I have a criterion. First, I look at the organizations that are documented, that have had investigations, that may be in the process of investigation or for which there are decisions by Albanian or foreign authorities.

The rest, unexposed criminal organizations, in activity, which may be under observation, surveillance. The Italians follow you for 4-5 years until they create the evidence to hit you, unlike us, who grab the banana container and that's where the story ends.

They have another principle. Today, in Albania, we have criminal organizations that have been tried and convicted in the USA to an extraordinary extent. The last case, a person who just arrived in Albania had 1.2 million dollars blocked, the chemist was caught, they wanted to create a laboratory for the production of synthetic drugs in Albania and even in Kosovo together with the family members of an important politician there. This person fled from Albania, was arrested in the USA, is currently under arrest in the USA. It is originally from the south of Albania.

Before this, in the USA there was a large group that was exposed because of the murders. It got noticed because they were using the small planes, they were trafficking narcotics from Florida, they were flying it north, two pilots who were veterans of the Vietnam War were caught, it made a lot of noise.

In Colombia, Brazil, Ecuador, today there are Albanian "martyrs" of drug-trafficking battles. We have eight cases in Ecuador.

We saw an investigation where an Albanian organization was caught transporting cocaine to Australia. The quantity that was seized was considerable. They had found an interesting formula, they had taken a project, a group of young people doing studies on the flora and fauna of the Mediterranean and the ocean, they had taken a sailboat and filled it with cocaine, they were taking it to Australia

He said that in the Revansh operation they were told that there were 7 groups, in fact according to the journalist there are more than that.

"Is there a list? Our Anti-Drug Directorate has a list of criminal drug-trafficking organizations operating inside and outside the country, which it has created based on the information it has with counterpart countries and anti-drug agencies, from the UN or Europol.

This list is much larger than what we see on the ground. Cocaine, if you succeed brings a lot of money in a short time, then the problem is where you will take it. This list, we will deal with details, because I have seen it. There is a concentration in Albania in the main areas where these organizations come from and secondly the territory where they operate in Albania. They range from trafficking to money laundering.

From what I have seen outside, we do not have a complete picture of what the true proportions are. We have traffickers who come from the peripheral area, we detect them, the organizations when they are involved in more serious crimes, kidnappings, murders. When they are alone in traffic, they are invisible and difficult to identify. Regarding the number, I will not be wrong to give a number because it is early.
