A popular Netflix model was sentenced to 20 months in prison in the United Kingdom for drug trafficking.

Olga Bednarska was arrested a month ago trying to smuggle 150,000 pounds of cannabis while flying from Thailand to Britain.

The 27-year-old woman was stopped at Manchester airport with two large suitcases in which about 40kg of cannabis were found.

Although her sentence was 20 months in prison, the model will not spend a day in jail after the prison sentence was suspended because the model claimed that a friend of hers had given the bags to her and she did not know what was inside them.

The model confessed that her flight was paid for by another person on the condition that she also get the suitcases of expensive clothes she brought from Phuket, Thailand.

The court was told that Bednarska, originally from Poland who lives in Manchester, had lived beyond her means and accumulated a debt of £16,000. So to pay for this she was forced to engage in crime, flying to Thailand to return with the ordered suitcases.

Bednarska broke down in tears in court and was subsequently spared jail for tax evasion and transporting class B drugs. Judge John Potter gave her a 20-month suspended sentence for transporting the cannabis, which has a street value of around £157,600. In addition to the suspended sentence, Bednarska was ordered to complete 15 days of rehabilitation activities.
