Explosion in Moscow: Three people killed, including two police officers  

Three people, including two police officers, have been killed in an explosive device explosion in Moscow. According to Russian authorities, two traffic police officers saw a “suspicious person” near a police car on the city’s Yeletskaya Street and, as they approached the suspect to stop him, the explosion occurred.

Russia's Investigative Committee said the two police officers died from their injuries, along with another person who was nearby.

Investigative Committee spokeswoman Svetlana Petrenko said in a statement on Telegram that investigations had been launched into the killing of two traffic police officers and a third person.

The explosion occurred near the site where top Russian general Fanil Sarvarov was killed by a car bomb. Russia has blamed Ukraine for the incident, but the latter has not commented. It is also not known whether the two incidents are linked. /CNA
