Bulgaria's parliament on Thursday ousted President Nikola Minchev in a new blow to Prime Minister Kiril Petkov's coalition government, which faces a no - confidence vote next week.

The motion presented by the former partner of the ruling coalition "There is such a people", with the support of the ruling GERB, "Movement for Rights and Freedoms" (MRF) and "Vazrazhdane".

They claim that Minchev has violated the Constitution and the rules of procedure of the Assembly and is obstructing normal legislative work and parliamentary control over the work of the government.

Mocioni i zëvendësimit mori 125 vota pro, 113 kundër dhe një abstenim.

Në përputhje me rregulloren e punës së Parlamentit, në vend të Minçevit do të jetë zëvendëskryetari i Kuvendit Kombëtar, Miroslav Ivanov. Kryesuesi i ri i Kuvendit Kombëtar duhet të zgjidhet brenda 14 ditëve nga shkarkimi i Minçevit nga detyra.

Analistët thonë se rrëzimi i Minçevit tregoi ekuilibrat e rinj në parlament dhe sinjalizoi se qeveria e Petkov mund të bjerë në një votë mosbesimi javën e ardhshme. Kjo do ta dërgonte vendin ballkanik në një raund të ri trazirash politike.
