The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, called on NATO to increase the number of peacekeeping forces in Kosovo, after the recent tensions with Serbia.

"A substantial increase in NATO soldiers and military equipment in our country would improve security and peace in Kosovo and throughout the Western Balkans region," Kurti told the German newspaper, Die Welte.

In the NATO mission in Kosovo, KFOR, there are currently over 3,700 troops from 27 countries of the world. NATO forces were deployed in Kosovo after the end of the war in 1999 with the aim of guaranteeing security.
