Britain and the EU hold final talks on the post-Brexit deal

The British Prime Minister, Rishi Sunak, and the head of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, are expected to hold "final talks" for a new agreement - after Brexit - for Northern Ireland.

They will meet at noon on Monday to discuss "complex challenges", officials from Sunak's office said.

The UK wants to change the current deal - which sees certain goods checked when they enter Northern Ireland from other parts of the UK.

A new agreement is expected for several days now.

Britain left the European Union on January 31, 2020, after a referendum against membership in this bloc.
