World-famous Albanian singer Rita Ora has spoken about her decision to freeze her eggs before she turned 30.

The 35-year-old singer revealed in an interview with Women's Health UK magazine published on Tuesday that she underwent two cycles of egg freezing at the ages of 24 and 27.

As she said, the decision was made after the recommendation of a doctor, who explained that at that time it was a good time to preserve the best possible quality of the eggs.

"A doctor told me it was a very good time to preserve the best possible quality of eggs. It was really the best advice, because now that I'm in my mid-30s I have a lot of friends who are really trying to find a solution ," the singer said.

The Albanian artist explained that she was influenced by her mother and her health journey when she experienced early menopause after treatment for breast cancer, with which she was diagnosed at the age of 39, in 2005.

"I'm obsessed with longevity and I think it started when my mother wasn't well, when she was diagnosed with breast cancer at a relatively young age, and that subconsciously made me more health conscious. My mother's treatment caused early menopause for her. So I try to be one step ahead and learn more about that ," she added.

Speaking about her future and motherhood, she stated that she would like to have a child with Taika Waititi, whom she married in 2022. /CNA
