Opposition protest/ Today, hearing for those arrested

Today, a hearing will be held at the Criminal Court for the people arrested in the opposition protest held on December 22. The hearing is about security measures for the arrested people and those criminally prosecuted. 

Meanwhile, outside the courthouse, there are opposition figures who have come to support the arrested protesters. 

Tirana police have arrested 4 people and prosecuted 7 other protesters following the December 22 protest.

According to the police, the following citizens were arrested in flagrante delicto: AK, 39 years old, ES, 36 years old, Xh. D., 38 years old and AH, 38 years old and criminal proceedings have been initiated against the following citizens: BF, EM, MM, Sh. D., KP, RB and a 16-year-old. 

Also, the materials were referred to the Prosecutor's Office where criminal proceedings were initiated against citizen EM, serving as organizational secretary of the political entity Democratic Party, since in his capacity as organizational representative of this entity, he did not fulfill his obligations to identify the persons responsible for the smooth conduct of the rally./ CNA
