Storms and heavy rains are expected/ CNA brings views from Palasa, citizens

This Monday and Tuesday, the weather in the country is expected to worsen, bringing heavy rain in some areas, accompanied by strong wind. 

Meanwhile, the CNA newsroom has received images from the area of ??Palasa where small boats are seen anchored on the shore and also some citizens, who have decided to bathe in the crystal water of the Ionian Sea, who seem unconcerned by the waves of the sea.

The General Maritime Directorate in Vlora, a day ago, called on all drivers of small boats and traversing vessels, starting from September 9 until Tuesday morning, to take measures to prevent any unexpected situation due to atmospheric conditions.

"Based on the forecast for the worsening hydrometeorological situation inside and outside the bay of Vlora, during the dates 09-10.09.2024 starting at 10:00 on 09.09.2024 in the South-South-East direction, in the force up to 5-6bft with wind speed up to 10-15 m/s and wave height from 1.00 to 1.50 meters, in order to prevent any unexpected situation due to atmospheric conditions, we ask for the cooperation of all entities that exercise activity in the maritime field, to get all the necessary measures for securing the means in the port and increasing the readiness of the crew in the vessels. The ships of international maritime transport will continue to operate normally according to the respective destinations", announced the General Maritime Directorate in Vlora.

The improvement of the deteriorated hydrometeorological situation for small vessels and fishing will be after 08:00 on September 10./ CNA
