"Erion Veliaj must give an account"/ Ilda Zhulali collides with Julian

The member of the Council, Ilda Zhulali addressed a request to the President of the Municipal Council of Tirana, Romina Kuko, to include in the agenda two urgent issues for discussion in today's Council meeting.

The first issue was the emergency garbage situation in Tirana and the accountability of the mayor and the representative/representatives of the company Eco Tirana for the failure to clean the city and endangering the health of citizens due to pollution.

Secondly, accountability of the mayor for the agreement of two foreign companies to perform financial control in the Municipality of Tirana, without the knowledge and approval of the Municipal Council.

However, this request has not been considered and as a result it has not been included in today's agenda.

For this reason, there was a heated debate between Mrs. Zhulali and the vice-chairman of the Municipal Council, Julian Hodaj, who stated that the Mayor is not accountable for every issue in the Municipal Council.

Debate in the meeting 

Julian Hodaj: The councilor's proposal has a formal problem and as a result, the request was not submitted according to the law, we discussed it in the meeting. The Mayor is not accountable for every issue in the City Council.

Zhulali: I want to know what is the correct form

Julian Hodaj: Submission of the request at the right time. I'm not here to lecture.
