Journalist Artan Hoxha has recently spoken about the resignation of the General Director of the State Police, Muhamet Rrumbullaku.

Hoxha said in a television appearance that Rrumbullaku had expressed his desire to resign even earlier, but his request was rejected.

He ruled out any allusion to a forced resignation or dismissal by Prime Minister Edi Rama.

"Actually there are many versions under wraps, however I'll try to stick to that public version of the story because it's a bit early and I don't want to speculate on it. Of course, unlike the previous director, that is Gladis Nano, who was asked to resign and refused, in this particular case we are dealing with a resignation from the acting director of the State Police. There have been rumors in the past, even before, that he tried or asked to resign, but this was rejected by the previous ministers and the prime minister," said Artan Hoxha./ CNA
