Lawyer Gentian Serjani has announced that the court of Korça has accepted the request of the prosecutor to leave the 21-year-old in prison.

The lawyer said that they asked for the measure to be easier because both the mother and the child were left at the mercy of fate, since only the 21-year-old worked in the family.

"The court certified the request of the prosecution, even though we tried to show that it is a matter of the Roma community, early marriages which should be prevented and not be the only stick when the consequences have arisen", said the lawyer.

"The court accepted the prosecutor's request to leave the 21-year-old in prison. Our positions and arguments were that there should be an easier measure of personal insurance given the situation. The minor mother today has no economic opportunity to feed the newly arrived child in life, the child today needs milk and who will feed him?

He was only 21 years old who worked two jobs to support his family, he also worked third shift but also during the day to support his family. There is no other person in his family since his mother and father have passed away, only he and his sister live in that family. Today we submitted a request from the minor girl to the court for the issuance of an authorization for her to enter into a legal marriage with the father of the child because it was of her own free will from the first moment they were united until the birth of the child.

There was a couple who took care regularly during the months of pregnancy to have a regular pregnancy. Unfortunately, the court certified the request of the prosecution, even though we tried to show that it is about the Roma community, early marriages which should be prevented and not be the only stick when the consequences have arisen.
