The month of August was "bloody" due to road accidents.

During this period, dozens of cases were reported, where many were injured, but there were also victims from numerous accidents.

In the balance of the work of one week, the Traffic Police says that it has intensified the measures for intensive monitoring of the movement of vehicles, while the measures seem not to have prevented accidents or made drivers aware.

"In order to prevent road accidents, the Road Police has intensified the measures that consist of the intensive monitoring of the movement of vehicles, the addition of mobile patrols, using intelligent speed measuring tools, police scanners, automatic radars, high-quality drones, draggers and telescopes .

As a result of monitoring in all road axes and urban centers, during one week:

- 149 driving licenses were suspended for speeding over the permitted rates, for driving under the influence of alcohol/in a drunken state, and for driving in the opposite direction;

- 44 drivers were arrested, 28 of them for driving while intoxicated and 16 for driving without a driving license.

In addition, 23,259 administrative measures have been imposed throughout the country, mainly for speeding beyond the permitted limits, for using a mobile phone while driving, for not using a seat belt, for wrong overtaking, for not wearing a protective helmet, for maneuvers dangerous on the road, for driving under the influence of alcohol, for wrong parking and for other violations.

The Traffic Police appeals to all drivers of vehicles and motor vehicles to strictly implement the traffic rules.

In order to increase the parameters of road safety, the State Police invites citizens to report to the free number 112, any case of violation of road traffic rules", informs the police./ CNA
