Ukraine/US war: Russia has committed crimes against humanity

The United States has officially determined that Russia has committed crimes against humanity in Ukraine.

Speaking at the Munich Security Conference, US Vice President Kamala Harris accused Russia of horrific acts of murder, torture, rape and deportation since the start of its occupation.

World leaders at the conference called for long-term support for Ukraine.

UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak said now was the time to "double down" on military support.

The prime minister argued that Western allies should start planning for Ukraine's future security, as well as sending the weapons it needs to defend itself.

Harris said at the conference that the perpetrators of alleged Russian crimes in Ukraine must be held accountable.

"Their actions are an attack on our shared values ??and our humanity," she said.

The UN defines crimes against humanity as a "widespread or systematic attack" against a specific civilian population.

Moscow has repeatedly denied targeting civilians during its occupation./ CNA.al
