Total revenues collected by the budget for the period January-March 2026 reached around 205.1 billion lek, with an increase of 13.3%, or 23 billion lek more, according to preliminary data from the Ministry of Finance.
Revenues collected from Taxes and Customs for the months of January-March 2026 amount to 130.6 billion lek. Compared to January-March 2025, +7.2 billion lek or 5.8% more were collected.
Tax revenues collected by the customs administration (revenues from VAT on imports, excise duties, customs duties and mineral royalties), for the period January-March 2026, were realized in the amount of 52.9 billion lek, or 83 million lek more% more than the same quarter of 2025. Realization of the plan for the 2026 quarterly period for customs revenues at the rate of 95.4%.
Revenues from VAT on imports, for the period January-March 2026, are 35.3 billion lek or with a realization of 95.4% of the plan for the quarterly period 2026.
Excise revenue , for the period January-March 2026, was realized in the amount of 14.9 billion lek, +370 million lek or 2.5% more than the first quarter of 2025, as well as a realization of 96.6% of the plan for the first quarter of 2026.
Revenues collected from export royalties , for the period January-March 2026, amount to 357 million lek.
Revenues from customs duties, for the period January-March 2026, are worth 2.2 billion lek, +184 million lek or 9% more than January-March 2025, and with a realization of 95.8% against the plan for the 2026 quarter.
Tax revenues collected by the tax administration (revenues from net VAT in the country, profit tax, personal income tax, national taxes), for the period January-March 2026, were realized in the amount of 77.7 billion lek, +7.1 billion lek or 10.1% more than the first quarter of 2025. Compared to the plan for the quarter, the revenues collected are +2.2 billion lek or 2.9% more.
Revenues from VAT collected (net) were realized in the amount of 25.2 billion lek, 4.1 billion lek or 19.4% more than the 2025 quarter, and with realization in the amount of +3.4 billion lek or 115.5% of the plan for the 2026 quarter. Refunds granted, for the period January-March 2026, amount to 2 billion lek.
Revenues collected from profit tax were realized in the amount of 19.6 billion lek, 2.2 billion lek or 12.7% more than the first quarter of 2025, and with a realization of 95.9% of the plan for the first quarter of 2026.
Personal income tax revenues , for the period January-March 2026, amount to 21.8 billion lek, 1 billion lek or 4.8% more than the same quarter of 2025.
National tax revenues , for the period January-March 2026, were realized in the amount of 11.2 billion lek or 97.6% of the plan for the first quarter of 2026.
Revenues from Special Funds, which include revenues from social and health insurance, collected by the Tax Administration, ISSH and FSDKSH, for the period January-March 2026, were realized in the amount of 48.3 billion lek, +4.6 billion lek or 10.5% more than the 2025 quarter, and with a realization of 101.5% of the plan for the 2026 quarter.
Total public expenditures, for the 3-month period of 2026, reached around 156 billion lek, with a realization of 92.9% of the plan for the period, while compared to the same period of 2025. This item resulted 5.9% higher or around 8.7 billion lek more compared to the 3-month period of 2025./Monitor
