About 2,500 people stripped down for a photo shoot on Australia's Bondi Beach on Saturday designed to raise awareness of skin cancer.

The crowd gathered to take in the latest work of American photographic artist Spencer Tunick, who is known for his nude photo sessions at important monuments around the world.

"We have an opportunity to raise awareness about skin checks and I'm honored ... to come here, make my art and just celebrate the body and protection," Tunick said on Sydney Beach, according to Reuters.

This is Tunick's fourth project in Australia, following a 2010 run in which he drew around 5,500 people to the famous Sydney Opera House.

Tunick is partnering with Skin Check Champions, a charity that runs free educational skin check clinics. The installation coincided with Australia's National Skin Cancer Action Week, when Scott Maggs, the charity's founder, will be calling on everyone to do a skin check instead./ CNA.al
