Prime Minister Edi Rama is holding a meeting today with journalists and media representatives from European Union countries.

Asked about current affairs, Rama also responded regarding the anti-government protests that have been taking place for days in Tirana and beyond.

Rama described it as a different moment in history, since, as he said, events such as the protest with four victims on January 21, 2011, have also been recorded on the same boulevard.

"This is a free country. I myself have participated in protests. I know well and I know the taste of the moment when it is difficult to protest. I also know the taste when the protest takes place in an unfree environment. On this boulevard, not a century ago, but just a few years ago, or more precisely in 2011, four protesters were killed with guns that had been aimed at them from this very building. For me, it is a different moment in history and it is really good that people can protest without a problem. It is another achievement of this decade", said Rama./CNA
