"We are not protesting like in Tehran"/ Shehi: Berisha no longer

Politician Dashamir Shehi commented today on the protests taking place in the country by the opposition.

Invited to A2 CNN, Shehi stated that rallies are currently being held by militants, while describing the Democratic Party's leader Sali Berisha as a leader who no longer manages to inspire the majority of Albanians.

According to Shehu, the opposition should focus on things in its hands that can change the country's politics.

"We are not protesting like in Tehran. These are not massive civic protests, but militant rallies that are getting tired week after week. The limited participation shows the lack of a strong political message and inspiring figures. Sali Berisha is no longer able to inspire the majority of Albanians to take to the streets."

The opposition must stop the repetitive rhetoric and build a clear, 360-degree political project with concrete objectives. It is not enough to demand the removal of Edi Rama or a caretaker government, when these are not realistically achievable.

"The opposition should focus on things that are in its hands: electoral reform, administrative reform, constitutional review," Shehi declared. /CNA
