"Cooperation for the organization of the NATO summit in Tirana"/

Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Elisa Spiropali, is in Istanbul where she will participate in the Second Meeting of Foreign Ministers of the Balkan Peace Platform.

The platform is an initiative of Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan with a focus on expanding bilateral and regional cooperation in all areas of common interest, exchanging views on infrastructure interconnection, energy security, increasing economic and defense cooperation.

Prior to the high-level meeting, Spiropali held a meeting with her counterpart, where the focus of the talks was on further deepening bilateral cooperation in areas of common interest.

"Holding the NATO Summit this year in Ankara and next year in Tirana is an extraordinary opportunity to further strengthen cooperation between the two friendly countries ," said Spiropali.

During her official visit to Turkey, Spiropali will also be received by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. /CNA
