Murder of Albanian in Greece/Crime with shotgun, suspicions that the perpetrator

New details have emerged from the double murder that occurred this evening at the reception of a campsite in Finikounda, Messinia, Greece, where one of the victims is also an Albanian citizen.

Greek media report that authorities are searching for a new suspect, who according to initial information may also be a minor.

According to reports, the perpetrator entered the reception at around 8:30 pm and after allegedly asking if he wanted to rent a room, his request was rejected. He then pulled out a weapon, most likely a shotgun, and shot the owner and the employee.

The two people were found dead and covered in blood in the reception area. The perpetrator then fled the scene.

The information indicates that the victim and the owner had a personal acquaintance, while there are indications that the perpetrator and the victims may have known each other. Also, according to the same information, the victim had been shot with a gun a few months earlier, in July, but he claimed that he had no disagreement with anyone.

The case was taken over by the Messinia Sub-Directorate of Investigation and Criminal Prosecution of Crime, and in particular by the homicide team, which is collecting evidence and statements to identify the perpetrator. Police are investigating camera footage, testimonies from residents and any telephone contact points between the suspect and the victims. /CNA
