Two young men have been arrested in Tirana after stealing 9 bicycles and electric motorcycles during the months of September and October. The arrested men are an 18-year-old Macedonian citizen and a 16-year-old minor, both of whom had previous convictions for theft.

Their arrests came after reports were made by several citizens about the theft of their bicycles and skateboards in various neighborhoods. It is reported that investigations are ongoing to uncover other cases of theft that may have been committed by these citizens.

Police announcement: 

Tirana/Police operation codenamed "Vehicles" is finalized

9 bicycles and electric motorcycles were stolen during the months of September-October, 2 citizens, previously convicted of theft, were identified and arrested.

The Crime Investigation Specialists of Police Station No. 2, following reports made by several citizens about the theft of their bicycles and skateboards in various neighborhoods, organized and finalized the police operation codenamed "Vehicles".

As a result of rapid investigative actions, also based on video footage, it was possible to uncover 9 cases of theft of bicycles and electric motorcycles, committed during the months of September and October, by a Macedonian citizen, 18 years old, and a 16-year-old minor, who at the end of the procedural actions were arrested for the criminal offense of "Theft", committed in collaboration.

Investigations are ongoing to uncover other cases of theft that may have been committed by these citizens.

The procedural materials have been referred to the Prosecutor's Office at the Tirana Court of First Instance, for further action. /CNA
