A 31-year-old man has been criminally prosecuted after attempting to take an undeclared amount of money out of Albania.

During the search of HJ's bag, the Kakavija border police found, on the way out of Albania, a monetary amount of 13,200 euros undeclared according to the rules.

The 31-year-old is accused of "Failure to declare money and valuables at the border."

The monetary amount found was seized as evidence.

The 31-year-old man was criminally prosecuted for attempting to take 13,200 euros out of Albania without declaring it.

The amount of money is seized.

In continuation of the work of the Border Police services, with the aim of preventing and combating crimes at the border, at the exit from Albania, a search was conducted in the bag of citizen HJ, where 13,200 euros were found, which this citizen had not declared in accordance with the law.

Following the procedural actions in the case, the Crime Investigation specialists of the DVKM Gjirokastër referred the materials to the Prosecutor's Office, where the proceedings were initiated in a free state, for the criminal offense of "Failure to declare money and valuables at the border", for the citizen HJ, 31 years old, resident of Berat. Also, the amount of euros was seized as material evidence. 

The procedural materials were passed to the Prosecutor's Office at the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction in Gjirokastra, for further action./CNA
