Hidden in luggage/ 16 kg of drugs seized, 46-year-old arrested, accomplice

Following successive strikes against criminal activity in the field of cultivation, production and trafficking of narcotics, specialists from the Narcotics and Illicit Trafficking Investigation Section, after a several-week investigation with proactive methods, under the direction of the Prosecutor's Office, finalized the police operation codenamed "Cross Border".

As part of the operation, citizen JB, 46 years old, resident of Korça, was arrested in flagrante delicto, and citizen DM, 37 years old, resident of Korça, the 46-year-old's accomplice, was declared wanted.

During the operation, the Police services stopped for inspection in the village of Vishocica, Devoll, the vehicle driven by citizen JB. The Police Services found a sports bag in the trunk of the vehicle, inside which were 15 packages wrapped in Natriban, with a total weight of 16 kg, suspected of being the narcotic substance cannabis sativa.

From the investigations so far, it has emerged that citizen JB, in collaboration with citizen DM, for whom the work to capture him continues, would traffic the quantity of narcotics towards Greece.

The work continues under the direction of the Prosecutor's Office to identify and apprehend other persons who may have been involved in this criminal activity./ CNA
