The Greek police informs that the 31-year-old Albanian with high social risk, Laert Haxhiu, tried to escape from the police forces.

In an attempt to leave, the Greek Police said, Haxhiu collided with 3 cars and then got stuck.

According to the Greek Police, Laert Haxhiu was traveling with two other Albanians, JB from Delvina and a 22-year-old. All three have been handcuffed.

Against Haxhi and 2 other Albanians, the charges of "violation of the law on immigrants", "forgery", "disobedience" and "false statement" have been brought.

The Greek police seized 1,400 euros and 4 mobile phones as well as the BMW X6 vehicle from the 3 arrested Albanians.

Laert Haxhi, the Police found a fake Greek identity card and after the verifications he was wanted by INTERPOL Tirana.

" On 22-05-2023, in the evening hours in Ioannina, 3 foreigners were arrested by the officers, as part of the investigation into a case of illegal immigration.

It is about a 31-year-old, a 35-year-old and a 22-year-old, against whom a case has been filed for violation of the legislation on foreigners, forgery of documents and false testimony.

In particular, regarding the dynamics of the event, the foreigners were riding in the car driven by the 35-year-old man and initially tried to avoid police control.

As it turned out, the 35-year-old and the 31-year-old were transporting the 22-year-old with the above-mentioned car, who lacked documents for legal entry and stay in the country.

Furthermore, the 31-year-old showed a Greek identity card, which was illegally possessed, and from the investigations that followed with the assistance of the Criminal Investigation Department of the General Directorate of Police of the Epirus District, it was revealed that the documents were fake.

Following the investigation of the case, it was established that the 31-year-old was wanted by INTERPOL Albania for attempted murder of two persons and possession of weapons without a permit.

Furthermore, it turned out that the 22-year-old was wanted by the Albanian authorities, nationwide, for the criminal offense of intentionally aiding and abetting serious injury.

As part of the investigation, the following were seized: The above car, a forged identity card, a sum of money of 1400 euros and 4 mobile phones. The arrested were sent to the Ioannina Prosecutor's Office, the Greek police announced./ CNA.al
