Helped immigrants with fake passports / The most wanted man was caught,

The services of the Section for the Investigation of Illegal Traffic in DVP Tirana, in cooperation with the Sector of the Special Operational Force, following the work to capture the wanted persons and bring them to legal responsibility, based on the information received in operational route, for the location of a wanted citizen, organized and finalized the coded police operation "Location".

As a result of this operation, the citizen was arrested and detained:

- Eduard (Eduart) Haxhiu, 54 years old, resident in Tirana. 

The 54-year-old man was sentenced to 7 years and 4 months in prison by the Special Court of First Instance for Corruption and Organized Crime in Tirana, for the criminal offenses of "Aiding illegal border crossing", "Criminal organization" and "Committing criminal offenses by criminal organization and structured criminal group".

During the period 2019-2022, this citizen has helped Albanian immigrants to cross to England and America, with forged passports.
