He offered money to voters on May 14/ One person is arrested by order of SPAK

The Special Prosecutor's Office against Corruption and Organized Crime has conducted investigations into corruption in the May 14 local elections.

From the investigative actions carried out in connection with this criminal proceeding, SPAK announces that suspicions have arisen that the citizen with the initials KK, residing in Kavaja, on the day of the general local elections for the election of local government bodies, was promised and offered monetary sums to other persons in order to participate in the voting, to ensure the participation of other persons in the voting, as well as to determine the voting method.

In the framework of the preliminary investigations of this criminal proceeding, at the request of the Special Prosecutor's Office against Corruption and Organized Crime in Tirana, with decision no. 58, dated 09.06.2023 of the Special Court of First Instance for Corruption and Organized Crime in Tirana, is located:

The appointment of the security measure "Arrest in prison" provided by article 238 of the Code of Criminal Procedure for the person under investigation CC, suspected of committing the criminal offense "Active corruption in elections", provided by article 328 of the Criminal Code.

The judicial police services of the Tirana Local Police Directorate executed on 09.06.2023 the measure of personal security imposed on the person under investigation above.

The preliminary investigations for this criminal proceeding are ongoing and have not yet been completed./ CNA.al
