Arrested for the assassination attempt on former prosecutor Ndoja/Extradited from Dubai, Dritan Shkëmbi

Dritan alias Amar Shkëmbi is expected to be extradited from Dubai to Albania the next day.

Journalist Elton Qyno reports that the United Arab Emirates has approved Shkëmbi's extradition to the requesting country, Albania.

Dritan Shkëmbi is one of the people accused of the assassination attempt on former prosecutor Arjan Ndoja. The assassination attempt that killed Andi Maloku and injured Aleksandër Laho, known as "Rrumi". This event occurred in October 2019.

The Special Prosecution Office has issued an international arrest warrant for Dritan Shkëmbi, on charges of "Attempted Murder of Public Officials", "Murder in Other Aggravating Circumstances".

Shkëmbi has been assigned the security measure "Arrest in Prison" by the Special Court against Organized Crime and Corruption.

Shkëmbi was arrested in February 2023, in the United Arab Emirates./ CNA
