A structured criminal group that organized and directed a network of international traffic of immigrants from third countries, from Greece to Albania, Kosovo and Serbia, with the final destination of the EU countries, was hit.

In an attempt to escape the Police, some of these citizens opened fire on the Police officers, seriously endangering the lives of the Police officers.

After several hours of pursuit by the services of the local and border police of Kukës, coordinating the actions with the border police of Kosovo, it became possible to capture and arrest 6 of them, as well as to announce the search for another citizen.

The control of the area continues to find the firearms used in this case, as well as to capture the wanted citizen.

The services of the DVP Kukës, in cooperation with the Border Police of PKK Morinë, following the work to attack the criminal activity of providing assistance to immigrants, for illegal crossing of the border, based on the information provided about a well-structured criminal group that organized and led this criminal activity, against the profits, they organized and developed the coded police operation "Structuring".

In the village of Morinë, on the green border with Kosovo, the Police services have located the group of foreign citizens who practiced the criminal activity of providing assistance to immigrants from third countries, for illegal crossing of the border.

The Police Services have appealed to these citizens to stop, but some of them have opened fire in the direction of the Police officers, seriously endangering the lives of the Police officers.

It was immediately communicated with the Border Police of Kosovo, in order to block the border on the Kosovo side, and after several hours of pursuit, the Police services made it possible to capture and handcuff 6 of them.

Following the procedural actions for this case, the specialists for the Investigation of Illegal Traffic and Narcotics of DVP Kukë arrested in flagrante delicto, for the criminal offenses "Murder of State Police employees", remaining in the attempt, carried out in cooperation, "Production and possession without a permit for weapons, explosive weapons and ammunition" and "Assistance for illegal border crossing", citizens:

-AB, 27 years old, with Algerian citizenship, as well as MN, 25 years old, NA, 20 years old, M. Sh., 21 years old, MR, 20 years old and RL, 40 years old, the fifth with Syrian citizenship.

Also, as part of this operation, SG citizen, 27 years old, with Algerian citizenship, was declared wanted.

Operation "Structuring" continues to find the firearms used in this case, as well as to capture the wanted Algerian citizen.

The procedural materials were passed to the Prosecutor's Office at the Court of First Instance of the General Jurisdiction in Kukës, for further actions.
