Presidential election/ Plenary session fails in Kosovo, there was no quorum

The Kosovo Assembly session to elect the president has failed. The reason for the failure was that the quorum for candidates, who must be at least 2 in the race, was not met.

Meanwhile, the only name in the race was that of Glauk Konjufca, proposed by the Vetëvendosje Movement.

The Speaker of Parliament, Albulena Haxhiu, stated that she could not call a plenary session because, based on the Constitution, there must be at least 2 candidates.

" Based on the Constitution, there must be at least 2 candidates in the race. Since we do not have two candidates, I cannot call a plenary session to elect the president ," said Haxhiu.
