British Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer held a phone call with US President Donald Trump this evening to discuss the ongoing situation in the Middle East.
According to a Downing Street spokeswoman, the two leaders spoke about the importance of reopening the Strait of Hormuz to end the disruption to global shipping, which is driving up costs around the world.
"The Prime Minister also expressed his condolences to the American service personnel who lost their lives during the conflict. They agreed to maintain contact," the spokeswoman added.
Among other things, the spokeswoman said Starmer agreed to discuss the situation with Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney at a meeting tomorrow. /CNA
