Trump: War with Iran could end soon, we've caused more damage than expected

United States President Donald Trump stated that the war with Iran is going according to plan and could end very soon.

In a statement to the American media outlet Axios, he said that military operations have proven more effective than initially expected.

"The war is going very well. We are well ahead of schedule and have caused more damage than we thought possible, even in the initial six-week period," Trump said.

According to him, most of the strategic objectives have already been hit, adding that there is practically nothing left to aim for, which according to the American president could lead to the end of the conflict in a short period of time.

However, Trump's statements have prompted criticism from political opponents and some analysts, who claim that the US administration's goals in this conflict have constantly changed during the development of the war./ CNA
