Russia and Ukraine exchanged 200 prisoners of war from each side today and will exchange 300 more tomorrow, Moscow announced, following an agreement reached in recent negotiations in Geneva.
Russian negotiator and Kremlin advisor Vladimir Medinsky wrote on Telegram that there were 500 exchanges.
"As part of the agreements reached in Geneva, a prisoner exchange with Ukraine will take place on March 5-6. 500 for 500," Medinsky wrote.
The two sides have periodically exchanged prisoners of war and returned the bodies of soldiers, the most recent move last week, despite a lack of progress towards a peace deal to end the four-year war between the two countries. /CNA
