NATO chief says alliance agrees Iran must not develop nuclear weapons
NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, in a communication with journalists before the summit in The Hague, stated that the allies have long agreed that Iran should not develop a nuclear weapon.
"When it comes to NATO's stance on Iran's nuclear program, allies have long agreed that Iran should not have a nuclear weapon," he says.
"Allies have consistently urged Iran to fulfill its obligations under the nuclear non-proliferation treaty."
Referring to Russia's war in Ukraine, he adds that Iran is "very involved" there, saying that Iran has sent drones that Russia is using to kill Ukrainian civilians./ CNA
